Over the years, I’ve had hundreds of conversations with homeowners who were frustrated with their previous lawn care company.

Now, to be clear, national lawn care companies aren’t necessarily bad companies. Many of them have helped homeowners improve their lawns for decades. But as they’ve grown larger, many customers feel like they’ve become just another number in a system.
That’s one of the reasons I started Hippo Turf Care.
I wanted to build a local lawn care company where communication mattered, where customers understood what was happening on their property, and where they could talk directly with someone who actually knew their lawn.

We send an email before your scheduled service so you know we’re coming and understand what we’ll be doing. After the service is complete, we send another email outlining exactly what was done, any products that were applied, and any watering or follow-up instructions that may be needed.
Our goal is simple: you should never have to wonder when we’re coming, whether your lawn was serviced, or what was done while we were there. We want every customer to know the what, the when, the why, and the how.
National Brands Manage Territories. Local Companies Manage Relationships.
This may be the biggest difference of all.
Large lawn care companies often have thousands of customers spread across multiple markets and states.
Their technicians work hard, but they may be responsible for hundreds of properties.
As a result, homeowners can sometimes feel disconnected from the people servicing their lawn.
